Quick Start — 5 Minutes to Realistic Data
This guide walks you through filling your first text nodes with realistic data. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes.
Step 1 — Install the plugin
Section titled “Step 1 — Install the plugin”If you haven’t already, install Realistic Data Generator from the Figma Community.
Step 2 — Select text nodes
Section titled “Step 2 — Select text nodes”In your Figma canvas, select one or more text layers (or frames/groups containing text layers). You can select across multiple frames.
- Single node: select the text layer directly.
- Multiple nodes (batch mode): hold
Shiftand click each text layer, or select a parent frame to target all its text children.
Free plan: batch fill is limited to 10 nodes at a time. Upgrade to Pro to fill unlimited nodes.
Step 3 — Choose a locale
Section titled “Step 3 — Choose a locale”Open the plugin panel (Plugins → Realistic Data Generator).
At the top of the panel, pick your target locale:

The selected locale determines which name lists, address formats, phone patterns, and admin ID formats are used.
Step 4 — Click a data category
Section titled “Step 4 — Click a data category”Choose the type of data to generate. The plugin replaces the text content of every selected node with a new random value from that category:
- 👤 First Name — culturally accurate first name for the selected locale
- 👤 Last Name — family name for the selected locale
- 👤 Full Name — combined first + last name
- 📞 Phone — phone number in the locale’s standard format
- 📧 Email — realistic fictional email address
- 🏠 Address — full street address in the locale’s format
- 🆔 Admin ID — fictional administrative identifier (see disclaimer below)
Step 5 — Done!
Section titled “Step 5 — Done!”Your selected text nodes now contain realistic, locale-accurate data. Repeat with a different locale or category as needed.
Disclaimer — Admin IDs: The Admin IDs generated (SIRET, SSN, DNI, Steuernummer, MyNumber) are entirely fictional. They follow the structural format of real identifiers but are not valid and must never be used in real documents, official forms, or any submission outside of design mockups.
